Dr. Schmid-Kühnhöfer serves as Managing Partner of the investment group Deutsche Invest Capital Partners GmbH (DICP) as well as Managing Partner of Deutsche Invest Capital Solutions (DICS). Rüdiger supports several organizations in the financial services and property industries as a board member, advisor, investor and founder. He has significant international experience in investing in, building, transforming and restructuring organizations across diverse industry sectors, including banking, asset management, insurance, automotive, real estate, business services, technology and leisure.

Between 2007 and 2016, Rüdiger served as Group Chief Operating Officer, General Counsel and Managing Director on the executive board of the Euronext listed merchant bank BHF Kleinwort Benson Group SA (previously RHJ International SA) where he led the successful transformation from a diversified industrial holding company to a financial services group. His responsibilities included group corporate development, M&A and restructuring. Prior, he held several senior management positions with Credit Suisse Group and before that he was an attorney with the international law firm Shearman & Sterling LLP in Düsseldorf and New York focusing on M&A and capital markets.

Rüdiger studied law at the Universities of Bayreuth, Geneva and Tübingen, and business administration at the Universities of Bayreuth and Geneva, London Business School and Harvard Business School.

He holds a Ph.D. in European business law from the University of Cologne.
